if yer talking about windows live messenger, its pretty much the same as msn messenger, dont open what yer not sure of, carefull who you allow as a contact. but if yer talking about windows messenger, it comes with xp and vista, doesn't need installing. and both are versions of msn messenger. clear as mud?

About the bottom lockset being picked with a credit card… Most quality doorknob locksets come with a “Dead Latch” They have a pin on the back that stays pushed in when the door closes, and this locks the latch bolt in place… Most exterior doorknob lockets I’ve seen have these… Therefore most doors (even without a deadbolt) wouldn’t open with a credit card if installed properly.

There are several products, common are some sort of reinforced box for the dead bolt with several long screws that actually screw into the 2×4 frame instead of the trim When my house was built I reinforced the frame so it can not be flexed. A lot of door frames can be flexed with a large pry bar enough for the latch and bolt to release. Best bet is a high quality exterior security door with a steel or rust proof alloy frame which prevents them from even getting to the front door at all.

I would suggest contacting your local locksmith, and have him/her do a "Security Audit". Tell them your concerns and fears they will listen to you!
I have found the deadbolt to be a good device against a break-in but usually the door frame fails. Have your security expert strengthen the frame and install a door sleeve for maximum resistance to a kicking attack.
If you have glass within 3 feet (arms length) of your door I would suggest a double cylinder dead bolt (keyed on both sides). Using a key on the outside is of little use, if a thief can break a glass and unlock the door from the inside

Good luck….even someone with an EXTREMELY well documented case can be initially turned down 1 to 3 times before they give in and let you have it.
I would consult a SS Attorney and let them start the process for you…those with representation seem to have an easier time with it than those without.

Social Security tips are tips you reported to your employer. Allocated tips are tips you did not report to your employer, but your employer is required to assume you received based on IRS data.
If you have tips in excess of what is reported on your W-2, either as SS tips or allocated tips, you report them on Form 4137 which is attached to your tax return.

"Social Security tips" are the (presumably) actual tips that you have recorded on your tip record and reported to your employer. They are recorded in Box 7 of your W-2.
"Allocated tips" (entered in Box
are computed by your employer by subtracting the reported tips of all employees from 8% (or an approved lower rate) of food and drink sales (other than carryout sales and sales with a service charge of 10% or more). Your share of that amount was figured using either a method provided by an employer-employee agreement or a method provided by IRS regulations based on employees' sales or hours worked. For information about the exact allocation method used, ask your employer.
You must report allocated tips on your tax return unless either of the following exceptions applies.
• You kept a daily tip record, or other evidence that is as credible and as reliable as a daily tip record, as required under rules explained earlier.
• Your tip record is incomplete, but it shows that your actual tips were more than the tips you reported to your employer plus the allocated tips.

On my doors, I pin the hinge side door jam with thread stock and drill receiving holes in the frame so when the door closes the pins go into the frame. I also fabed strips of stainless about an inch wide and 6″ long for my doors,(yours may vary)and put a 90 degree brake in the center of them and secure them to the latch side of the frame so when the door closes the plate covers the bolt where nothing can get to it. All are important! What I am addressing here is to not get a false sense of security during daylight hours and to use what deterrents you already have.I not unlike alot of people did not realize the ease of getting thru a typical bottom lock. Security systems,deadbolts,locks only work if you use them.Just wanted to get people thinking security.Thanks ===Bob

not being paranoid hun, not at all, i keep telling my foreighn friends the same and they never listen to me and just grin like i am paronoid, o well, some got their wallet stollen from their back jeans pocket, paranoid huh, i said hahaha
any how, you should be doing great with a messenger bag, easy to carry around, you can stuff a lot of stuff in there and you can swing it around and all and keep your hands free when needed, really a great option, most woman do so here anyways, we also have the regular bags that we carry close under our armpits but hey, when you travel and wanna see things its nice to have both hands free when you shop right??hahahaha
nother tip, wear sneakers, most things are walking distance and sneakers be great and since we been having some crazy weather lately, try to get you one of them small umbrella's,purse size that you can stuff into your bag, lately we been having lots of rain showers from drizzels to pooring rain.

Before unpacking, measure the exact width of the new security door as is.
Make sure it will fit in the door frame without any problem.
If everything is good, I suggest that you use some shims to rest the hinge side. Use as much shim as needed to raise up the door to the top piece.
I suggest that you use 2 1/2" Simpson strong drive screws (or lag screws) to temporarily attach the door. This will help if you need to make adjustments since you can unscrew them easily if needed. It is your decision if you want to use the one way screws that come with the door for final attachements. Replace them (screws) one at a time. Good luck!!!

Good advice. My neighbor installed good solid doors with quality deadbolts…they just kicked in the door, leaving one large bootprint on the door. Is there a product to reinforce around door jam? Just curious as, of course, they can almost always get in if determined. But anything to slow em down.

1. Use WPA encryption (WPA-PSK) it's less crackable then WEP.
2. Make a passphrase that is upper & lower case and has some numbers thrown in there as well, again harder to crack.
some like mAkE1t5eCurE0rel53 and as long as possible.
3. Use MAC access control so only you or authorized PC's can connect (even if you do have encryption turned on)
4. Turn off DHCP use static addresses.
5. Turn off SSID (and change it) unless your card really needs it (some do)
6. Change username/password of access unit front end
7. Ensure you have the usual firewall enabled on your PC.
8. Paranoia rules, turn WLAN off if your not using it
These are the rules I stick to and have not been hacked……..yet

That Door Safe system from post below looks like it would help. Type “bump key” into youtube…kinda negates everything though. Time fore a Schutzhund level 3 sheperd (a dog that will rip face off intruder) and some good hollow points. I hate a thief; the worse being those who don’t care if you’re home.
